Textures to Think | How Often Does Texture Going On In The Studio?

Day 7 | Residency at Hauser & Wirth Somerset | Postgraduate at Bath Spa University Exchanges from CalArts

- arranging textures -

It's the spring side of summer, the new green sits on the skin of trees. Seagulls and ducks are getting alone well in the park as I walk along, unable to distinguish what they are eating. By six, I walked out of my studio at Bath Spa University; immediately drew attention on these indecipherable green sandlike textures.

After staring out and filming in the woods for a while I notice that everything becomes so quiet and darling: an owl showed up, several squirrels passed by, and a statue subtlety showed up his face in the woods.

It gets darker. It appears on the cloud first.

Hauser & Wirth Somerset Summer Party | Laughs Are Born With Unexpected Things

Day 6 | Residency at Hauser & Wirth Somerset | Postgraduate at Bath Spa University Exchanges from CalArts

"Humor is a kind of perverse raise of the world  of foolishness".

Donald Kuspit, 'Tart, Wit, Wise, Humor'

Humor, according to the Oxford dictionary, is 'the quality of being amusing or comic, especially as expressed in literature or speech’, and 'a mood or state of mind.'

I found humor in today's summer party at Hauser & Wirth Somerset. As Freud mentioned, in relating the experience of humor to the experience of pleasure. This might explains why magicians keep having audience in the circus. People want to come back for more laughs, no matter through comedy, game or art.

Balcony Studies | The Outer Space

Day 4 | Residency at Hauser & Wirth Somerset | Postgraduate at Bath Spa University Exchanges from CalArts

I photograph everything until the moment it's needed.

I've been always attracted to different designs of an outdoor space in one's home,

I have troubled relationship with material things:

I hang on my wet laundry in a closed balcony space in China.

I built an open air American treehouse outside of my studio in Valencia, California.

I question what is the definition of one's home and nationality.

I propose a vote of thanks.

If one day you see me struggling to build an outer space "house in the air", please, do not help me.
