Salvation Mountain | Slab City

Slab City is a free camp ground and alternative  community located near an active bombing range in Niland it was once a WW11 base. It earnt its name for the left over concrete slabs that existed long after the base had been bulldozed. It is often referred to as 'the last free place on earth.' The entrance to Slab city is Salvation Mountain a colourful 'mountain' created by Leonard Knight which indicates the entrance to Slab City
